Live5 gets approval to operate in British Columbia
Coming a year after their debut in Quebec, Live5’s star is rising in Canada.
Live5 Gaming, one of the UK’s premier digital game developers, has increased its profile in Canada after securing the necessary approvals to operate its technology in British Columbia.
The British Columbia Gaming Enforcement and Policy Branch (GEPB) granted Live5 the right to integrate its titles – which include Sheba, Orb of Osiris, Win In Rome and Minotaur – via Scientific Games, with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.
Live5 CEO Lloyd Butler struck an upbeat tone: “We are thrilled to have received the necessary approvals to launch our popular online slot content with British Columbia Lottery Corporation and to players on its PlayNow site.”
Live5 sees great potential in the Canadian market. As Butler went on to say: “We believe the Canadian market has significant untapped potential and by applying for and receiving certifications such as this with the GEPB we are positioning Live5 for a long and successful future in the market with our operator partners.”
This is not Live5’s first foray into Canada. Just last year, Loto-Quebec – operator of all lottery schemes in the province of Quebec – partnered with Live5 to enhance its online offerings in the world of gaming. This came at an auspicious time, just as in-person gambling was hit with lockdowns stemming caused by Covid-19. Online gambling skyrocketed in the fallout from the pandemic. In addition to growing its presence in Canada, it Live5 also operates in the UK, Malta, Denmark, Sweden, Italy and Spain.
