The sci-fi-themed slot will release in time for the movie’s release date.

Aristocrat Gaming is set to launch a Dune-themed slot machine to accompany the release of the much-anticipated sci-fi epic on October 22, 2021. The slot machine will be available in casinos throughout the US.

This new game, which reflects a similar Game of Thrones-themed product released by Aristocrat, will appear on the company’s Neptune Double cabinet. Thus, players will be able to utilize its 49-inch 4K monitor.

“We are thrilled to have the privilege of releasing the Dune slot game alongside the feature film for the first time in company history,” said Jon Hanlin, Aristocrat Gaming’s senior vice president of commercial strategy and business analytics. “Once players leave the movie theater, they can continue the story and fun on casino floors nationwide.”

The game is based on Dune, a film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s iconic and seminal sci-fi novel, featuring distant planets, space age political intrigue, and giant man-eating sandworms. This version comes from the mind of Denis Villeneuve, the Academy-Award nominated director of Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival.

Just like the movie, Aristocrat’s machine places Timothée Chalamet front and center, with his character Paul Atreides featuring on the box. The game is also set to feature tracks and sound effects lifted directly from the motion picture.

When it comes to prizes, the Dune game features a $500,000 multi-site progressive jackpot and mechanics such as multiplier stacks, and frequent scatter-triggered features that use proven game mechanics in new ways.

This agreement represents a furthering of ties between the gaming and film industries. As both the land-based gaming industry and the movie-theater worlds faced hard times throughout 2020 and 2021, deals such as these reflect that both are bouncing back after a difficult period.

Along with Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, and Zendaya will all star in the sci-fi epic which releases on October 22.
