Indiana November sports betting revenue reaches $9.3m

Indiana earned $9.2m in sports wagering revenue for November, down 19% from October.
Sportsbooks in Indiana took in a record $147m of handle in November, a rise of 61% month-on-month.

The decline in sports betting revenue is partially tied to a poor month from Penn National’s Ameristar Casino in partnership with DraftKings' sportsbook.

The casino saw revenue fall $700,000, despite raking in nearly $25m more handle than the month prior.

Ameristar nonetheless continued to pace the state in revenue by earning $4.3m. The sportsbook accounted for 44% of the state’s total handle.

The FanDuel sportsbook at Blue Chip Casino finished second with $2m of revenue, a monthly rise of 119%.

Horseshoe Hammond’s land-based sportsbook brought in revenue of $671,000, but saw a decline of 61% from October.

Indiana’s sportsbooks with mobile betting brought in significantly more handle.

DraftKings, FanDuel and the BetRivers online sportsbook at French Lick Resort combined to earn $96m of handle which accounted for 65% of all sports bets across the state.

November marked FanDuel’s first full month as the mobile sportsbook for Blue Chip Casino.

Indiana casino operators will be closely watching whether Illinois legalizes sports betting in the coming months.

Sportsbooks in Indiana have taken advantage of Chicago bettors being forced to cross state lines to wager on sports.
