Bidwill will sit down with AGA president Bill Miller to discuss the convergence of legalized sports betting and pro sports.

Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill will deliver a keynote address at G2E 2021, to be held at the Venetian Expo Oct. 4-7.

Bidwill and American Gaming Association president Bill Miller will meet at 1:00 p.m. MST Wednesday, Oct. 6 in the Venetian Ballroom F, where they’ll discuss the Cardinals’ recent sports betting partnership with Gila River Hotels & Casino and BetMGM, the importance of responsible wagering and where legal sports betting goes from here.

The keynote is part of AGA’s Cards on the Table with Bill Miller, a series of one-on-one discussions with gaming leaders. Previous speakers include former FanDuel CEO Matt King, Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox and DraftKings CEO and Co-Founder Jason Robbins.

Bidwill is the third in his generation to own the Cardinals. He also served as a federal prosecutor in Phoenix.

The Cardinals were one of 10 professional sports organizations in Arizona to receive a sports betting license. Sports betting launched in the Grand Canyon State just ahead of the NFL season.

Arizona has quickly situated itself as one of the top new sports betting markets. According to GeoCompy’s data, Arizona had the fourth highest volume of sportsbook transactions among states it tracks, trailing only New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

“Cardinals fans are very passionate, and the launch of legal sports betting in Arizona provides a new and innovative way to interact with them,” said Bidwill. “With our partners at Gila River Hotels & Casino and BetMGM, we are excited to bring this emerging market to Arizona.”

AGA research shows that more than 45m Americans plan to wager on the NFL this season, a 36% increase year-on-year.
