The upgrade is expected to significantly reduce overhead costs.

The SuperBook at the Westgate Resort & Casino Las Vegas has completed a video quality upgrade to its 4K video wall in collaboration with Semtech Corporation and ZeeVee.

Semtech, a supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconducters and advanced algorithms and ZeeVee, a manufacturer of video and signal distribution technology, spent five months completing a makeover of the SuperBook’s 18.8 feet high and 260 feet wide video wall.

“The collaborative solution is powered by ZeeVee ZyPer4K encoders and decoders and Semtech’s BlueRiver AV technology,” Semtech said. “Through integrating BlueRiver into the video wall at the SuperBook, there is now high quality, uncompressed 4K60 video, alongside native SDVoE connectivity, which reduces the cost and complexity of the AV system.”

The video wall now features high quality uncompressed 4K60 video, alongside native Software Defined Video over Ethernet connectivity, which reduces the cost and complexity of the audio/video system.

“This project is a great and high profile example of the power of ZeeVee’s ZyPer4K SDVoE solution and our BlueRiver AV processor technology in the gaming and entertainment markets,” said Don Shaver, vice president of marketing of video products for Semtech's Signal Integrity Products Group. “In addition to the high quality, uncompressed 4K60 video, the native SDVoE connectivity and wide component compatibility greatly reduces the cost and complexity of AV systems.”

Westgate’s integration partner, NMR Events, was able to engineer 175 different multiviews per screen, providing a seemingly endless combination of images simultaneously.

The SDVoE/AV-over-IP platform is expected to save Westgate hundreds of thousands of dollars in multiview processing alone.

“Our client was extremely happy with the outcome of this project on several fronts,” said Doug Whelan, director of systems Integration at NMR. “The video wall’s eye-popping dynamic content is helping Westgate to draw in bettors. In addition to the video quality, we appreciate the efficiency, flexibility and cost effectiveness of the ZeeVee, Semtech and SDVoE solution.”
