IGT expands to Wisconsin with Oneida Nation partnership

International Game Technology is expanding its PlaySports platform to Wisconsin by partnering with the Oneida Nation Reservation, operator of Oneida Casino in Green Bay.

Oneida Nation is the first Wisconsin tribe to receive state approval for sports betting after signing a renegotiated gaming compact in July.

Oneida Nation expects to launch a temporary retail sportsbook location at its casino this fall and will utilize IGT’s turnkey sports betting solution.

"We look forward to partnering with IGT to introduce sports betting to our loyal patrons and becoming the first casino in Wisconsin to operate a sportsbook," said Louise Cornelius, Oneida Casino Gaming General Manager. "Implementing IGT's proven PlaySports platform and trading advisory services will strongly enhance Oneida Casino as a premier gaming destination."

Oneida Nation plans to launch mobile sports betting later this year.

Oneida Nation should see plenty of NFL wagering as the only Oneida Casino is a 10-minute drive from Lambeau Field, home of the NFL’s Green Bay Packers.

For IGT, entrance into American’s Dairyland could be lucrative given the popularity of pro and college sports in the state.

Wisconsin is home to the reining NBA champions the Milwaukee Bucks as well as the Milwaukee Brewers and the University of Wisconsin, which competes in the Big Ten Conference.
