Sports Gambling Guides on Wednesday said it has tapped longtime industry executive Chris Nordling (pictured) to be a member of its board of directors and act as a financial advisor.
The company cited a recent study by the American Gaming Association that found gaming in the United States is a $240 billion industry, employing 1.7m people in 40 states, and is experiencing rapid legal expansion.
“Mr. Nordling will assist Sports Gambling Guides' expansion into new legal sports and online casino gambling opportunities,” the company said in a statement, referring to him as a “seasoned gaming executive.”
According to Sports Gambling Guides, Nordling has been in the casino business for more than 40 years, most recently spending 20 years at MGM Resorts.
Nordling has served as chief financial officer for CityCenter, MGM’s $9.0-billion integrated resort, as well as CFO of Bellagio and Mirage, and president of MGM’s corporate entities.
“Sports Gambling Guides, LLC has obtained sports gaming licenses in every legal state, and specializes in new customer acquisition marketing for the premier legal online sports betting operators, including DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM,” Nordling said in a statement. “I believe my decades of experience and understanding of the gaming industry will help the company accelerate its expansion.”
Company president Troy Paul added, “The younger generation is getting their sports scores, information and video content from Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Twitch, YouTube and other social media platforms. It is delivered in real time and is growing exponentially. Mr. Nordling’s extensive experience, combined with our niche in the new social media marketing world, allows us to accelerate our national growth plans.”
