DraftKings has today announced a multi-year partnership with Simplebet to launch real-money micro-betting. The agreement will see DraftKings integrate Simplebet’s real-time betting technology to allow users to place wagers throughout sporting events.
Per the agreement, DraftKings will offer micro-betting products for the NFL, MLB and NBA, as well as a number of college football events. This will be the first time micro-betting is available for college sports.
“We’re thrilled to be launching our real-money micro-betting products with DraftKings,” said Chris Bevilacqua, co-founder and CEO of Simplebet. “These types of offerings represent the next evolution of sports betting and deliver enhanced opportunities for operators and fans alike. We look forward to the successful roll-out and to showcasing the excitement that comes with micro-betting.”
Founded in 2018, Simplebet recently announced the completion of a $15m financing round, bringing the company’s total funding to $50m. This injection of funds is being used to improve the company’s existing NFL, MLB and NBA products by launching new sports, introducing new subcategories of micro-markets such as Scripts, expanding engineering resources to enable more efficient customer integrations and exploring other strategic opportunities.
“We’re excited to be working with Simplebet to change the in-game betting experience for our customers and, together, changing the way sports fans engage with their favorite sports,” said Paul Liberman, president, global technology and product at DraftKings. “Through our shared commitment to delivering innovative technology, our customers are now able to take part in this unique betting and engagement experience on the DraftKings Sportsbook.”
Based in Boston, and launched in 2012 by Jason Robins, Matt Kalish and Paul Liberman, DraftKings is a multi-channel provider of sports betting and gaming technologies operating in 17 countries and its online sportsbook is currently live in 14 states.
