Partnership will bring sports betting to two gaming resorts in September.

BetMGM, a sports betting and online gaming operator, on Thursday said it has entered into an exclusive partnership with Liv Hospitality in South Dakota.

The two parties said the deal, terms of which were not disclosed, will allow two Liv properties in Deadwood – Tin Lizzie Gaming Resort and Cadillac Jack’s Gaming Resort – to offerretail and mobile sports betting.

The Deadwood Sports Betting Legalization Amendment was approved by voters on November 3, 2020, authorizing the South Dakota State Legislature to legalize sports betting within the city.

Pending regulatory approval, the BetMGM mobile app will be accessible within both Tin Lizzie and Cadillac Jack’s beginning next month. The companies said the mobile app will complement a retail BetMGM Sportsbook that will include kiosks and counter wagering.

“Liv Hospitality’s prime resort locations in Deadwood make it an ideal partner for us,” Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM CEO, said in a statement. “Together, we look forward to bringing the BetMGM sports betting experience to South Dakota sports fans.”

Caleb Arceneaux, CEO of Liv Hospitality, added, “BetMGM is an outstanding organization that brings credibility to our new sports betting offerings. Visitors now have another reason to come to Deadwood, while enjoying the many other entertainment opportunities at our resorts.”

In addition to the two gaming resorts in Deadwood, Liv Hospitality operates several vacation properties in the Black Hills of South Dakota, including the WaTiki Indoor Waterpark Resort.

BetMGM was born in 2018 out of a partnership between MGM Resorts International and Entain Plc. It has exclusive access to all of MGM’s US land-based and online sports betting, major tournament poker, and online gaming businesses. Utilizing Entain's US-licensed technology, BetMGM offers sports betting and online gaming via brands such as BetMGM, Borgata Casino, Party Casino and Party Poker. The company is headquartered in New Jersey.
