Today, Genius Sports, Ltd. announced the signing of a new supplier agreement with sports betting and gaming operator DraftKings. The deal will see Genius Sports provide the sportsbook with its full range of official data, content and fan engagement solutions.
Per the agreement, DraftKings will gain full access to NFL data and statistics. The sports betting platform will leverage Genius Sports’ technology to aid in the personalization of the player experience. The company will also gain access to live video feeds from 170,000 sporting events per year.
“We have invested heavily to ensure that our official data is the fastest, richest and most accurate available, and are committed to continued innovation,” said Christopher Halpin, NFL chief strategy and growth officer. “With Genius, DraftKings and the NFL working together on official sports data, we will help create a highly engaging, secure and sustainable sports betting environment for fans to enjoy.”
This news comes five months after DraftKings was selected as one of the NFL’s official sports betting partners. The same period saw Genius become the league’s exclusive distributor of real-time official play-by-play statistics, proprietary Next Gen Stats (NGS) data, and official sports betting data feed.
The deal will also see DraftKings gain access to BetBuilder, Genius Sports’ fully automated single-game parlay solution for the NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA.
“Being selected by DraftKings, one of the most prolific sportsbook brands in the US, is another historic achievement for Genius Sports,” added Mark Locke, CEO at Genius Sports. “This partnership reinforces our commitment to official sports data and demonstrates its intrinsic value in helping our sportsbook partners stand out from the competition. Our data, trading, streaming and marketing services deliver a complete set of sportsbook solutions that are backed by the largest leagues in world sports, including the NFL.”
Founded in 2012, DraftKings provides sports betting platforms for 17 different countries. The company’s app is currently live in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
