Operator now offers sports betting in six states, online gaming in two.

PointsBet, a global online gaming operator, on Friday launched its proprietary online gaming platform in New Jersey.

The Garden State represents the second jurisdiction for the PointsBet online casino product, following the launch of its inaugural online gaming operations in Michigan in May.

PointsBet made the US debut of its sports betting product in New Jersey in January 2019.

Today, PointsBet operates its sports betting platform in Colorado – where it has established its North American headquarters – Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and New Jersey.

The company said it aspires to unveil its sports wagering and online casino productsin Arizona, Kansas, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and West Virginia via additional market access agreements, subject to enabling legislation and/or regulatory approvals.

The operator offers a fixed odds sportsbook as well as its “PointsBetting” platform.

The company noted online gaming revenue in the United States has grown exceptionally since the repeal of PASPA in May 2018. Across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia – all states in which PointsBet has online casino market access – online gaming revenue reached nearly $900m in the June 2021 quarter, which if annualized would be greater than $3.5 billion.

“We are thrilled to be able to expand our online gaming presence in the United States and bring our proprietary online casino product to the robust New Jersey market,” PointsBet Group CEO and managing director Sam Swanell said in a statement. “The continued growth of our online gaming presence further advances our ability to acquire and retain premium clients, complementing our existing sports wagering products.”

Manjit Gombra Singh, PointsBet’s president of product and technology, added, “I am proud of our online gaming team for a successful expansion into New Jersey following what has been a tremendous introduction of our proprietary online casino product in Michigan. We are excited for what the future holds and welcome the opportunity to continuously improve and expand the online casino presence at PointsBet.”

PointsBet originally was founded in Australia.
