International Game Technology (ITG) has this week announced its aims to move forward with plans for a cashless gaming experience through a strategic partnership with Marker Trax, which produces digital casino marker systems. Casino markers allow guests to gamble without carrying large amounts of cash.
The agreement will see operators who implement IGT’s Advantage casino management system given the option to integrate Marker Trax technology into any variation of an IGT Resort Wallet.
When the two systems are used simultaneously, casino patrons can create casino markers on their mobile devices in order to fund their use of IGT’s cashless wagering account. Players will be able to register for the system via a mobile app.
"In giving our customers the option to add Marker Trax's specialized technology into their IGT Resort Wallet-powered casino apps, IGT is delivering an even more versatile cashless payments ecosystem," commented IGT senior vice president, Ryan Reddy. "With the demand for cashless gaming solutions at an all-time high, technology integrations like what we've agreed to with Marker Trax will help our customers offer multiple cashless technologies in an intuitive, convenient and safe manner."

The companies have highlighted that this agreement is in an effort to capitalize on the growing cashless segment, while improving player experience and casino security.
