Partnership aims to improve the gaming industry’s security and operations.

Surveillance Systems Integrated (SSI) has today announced an agreement with optical phase array and LiDAR senor producer Quanergy. The company will provide advanced security solutions to the US gaming and casino market.

SSI produces and installs CCTV technology across the US casino industry. Its portfolio consists of properties across the US, Canada, and the Caribbean.

The deal will see casinos equipped with SSI’s technology now become fitted with Quanergy’s flow management platform, which tracks customer traffic patterns in and out of the property. The company says this will allow casinos to accurately identify and assess security situations and enable a rapid response.

Quanergy’s platform also provides more information on guest experiences and sales enhancements, aiming to optimize the property’s profits. For example, the tracking system can provide heat maps that show which areas of a casino are the most profitable and which need improvement.

“We selected Quanergy for its engineering leadership in LiDAR,” said Todd Flowers, president, SSI. “The company’s technology is becoming indispensable for a wide variety of internet of things (IoT) applications, creating smart spaces—including gaming environments—that are safer and more efficient.”

Gerald Becker, Quanergy’s VP of market development and alliances, added: “We are very excited to be working with SSI to bring Quanergy’s LiDAR solutions which provide security awareness and insightful data of crowd traffic to the gaming industry,”

“Working together, we can deliver solutions that improve safety for their customers and facilities, while increasing their business by utilizing the collected data from the crowd traffic flow. This approach enables gaming businesses to design entertainment areas based on the customers’ travel journey.”
