The agreement signals intent to further invest in growth markets.

Sports betting software developer Altenar has agreed a partnership with Colombian sportsbook and casino Colbet.co, and Betsson, the Swedish betting platform and majority owner of Colbet.

Founded in 2011, Altenar work as a B2B software provider for sportsbook companies globally.

The deal comes as Colbet begins plans to revamp its betting site for a more modern and user friendly experience. Altenar has been chosen as the sportsbook supplier for this newly developed site.

Colbet has been operating in the region since 2017 and in 2020, it saw 70% of the company’s shares acquired by international gaming organization Betsson.

“We are extremely happy to return to Colombia and be the sportsbook provider of the new Colbet website,” said Domenico Mazzola, commercial director of Altenar. “Backed by Betsson Group, Colbet will definitely be a success in the region, and we will do everything we can to support them with our technology and experience in the market.”

The first version of the newly released Colbet.co launched on July 1.

Recently, Betsson announced an agreement with e-wallet app, MuchBetter. The MuchBetter app is now available for Betsson users on Betsson.com, Betsafe.com and CasinoEuro.com, among other platforms owned by the company.

The app allows Betsson to offer instant payments as well as reduce security and fraud concerns via biometric verification. The features are available throughout the Latin American markets in which Betsson operate.

Speaking on the agreement, Stefania Zammit Marmara, payments relationship manager at Betsson said: “Betsson Group is expanding in some really exciting growth regions. We always want the best for our customers, and payments play a big part in the overall experience that customers have with an igaming brand.”
