Sports betting platform will go live during the NHL and NBA playoffs.

OfficePools.com, a Canadian software provider of community and fantasy sports games, has announced the launch of their free-to-play sports betting platform OfficePoolsBets.com in partnership with Chalkline.

Since 1995, OfficePools.com has provided fantasy hockey content across Canada, and this agreement sees it enter the newly legalized market of single-sports betting.

Nashville-based Chalkline is a provider of free-to-play and real money games for casino operators in North American. Their BettorGames platform is designed to allow products to be personalized at a regional and state level, which has allowed them to deliver over 8,000 unique games since the start of 2020.

The partnership allows the OfficePools Bets platform to make full use of Chalkline’s free-to-play platform during a time when demand for sports betting is high due to the NHL Playoffs, NBA Playoffs and the European soccer championships.

“OfficePools.com sees the legalization of sports betting in Canada as a positive development for sports fans across the provinces,” said Graham Lee, CEO of OfficePools.com’s parent company GSL Holdings Ltd. “This free-to-play partnership expands on our existing platform of engagement and educational tools, and Chalkline is the perfect partner to grow into a regulated sports betting environment with.”

Speaking on the agreement, CEO of Chalkline, Daniel Kustelski (pictured) said: “Graham and the team at OfficePools.com are part of the fabric of what it means to be a sports fan in Canada. We’re ecstatic to partner with the leading community fan site, and to leverage our shared vision and products to deliver fun and education to their passionate audience.”

Last week saw single sports betting legalized throughout Canada via bill C-218. Previously it had been illegal to wager on less than three sports events at a time, but the legislation passed despite concerns over the prevention of cheating.
