Former NBC sports executive will join Spotlight’s leadership team.

Spotlight Sports Group’s Pickswise, a sports betting platform that provides odds and bets on the NBA, MLB, NHL and soccer, announced Dan Pozner (pictured), former director of gambling content at NBC Sports, has signed on and will be responsible for managing betting content across Pickswise video, editing, data and audio channels. He will also work to bring in new talent to the sports betting platform.

“I was immediately drawn to Pickswise’s aggressive approach to expansion in the US market through educating and entertaining sports bettors with free, accessible data-driven insights without the need for a paid subscription,” Pozner said. “Pickswise is the ultimate first-step destination for sports bettors looking to make stronger and more informed bets and I’m looking forward to expanding and innovating Pickswise’s growing and trusted content portfolio.”

Sports betting is becoming more widespread throughout the country with more states voting for or discussing its legalization. Recently the Senate in both Louisiana and Maine voted on its legalization, while Arizona moved closer to doing so. Canada has also recently legalized single sports betting, a further example of how the North American sports betting market continues to grow.

Harry Von Behr, managing director for Spotlight Sports Group speaking on Pozner’s choice to join Pickswise said: “The American sports betting market continues to change rapidly, but the one constant is a strong demand for quality content that educates, informs and inspires bettors. Dan’s experience in building betting brands and creating successful content, including podcasts and managing partner bookmaker relationships, is an enormous asset to Pickswise as we continue to grow into one of America’s top sports betting sites.”

While with NBC, Pozner worked to develop sports betting on the platform through integrating odds onto their television, free games and online content.
