Playtech secures agreement with AMC Network, granting exclusive rights to create igaming titles.

Gambling technology company Playtech and AMC Networks have revealed their plans to produce a series of igaming products based on AMC’s most popular titles.

The agreement will see Playtech produce exclusive software based on popular series like The Walking Dead as well as numerous other AMC products.

The Walking Dead  is the most-watched TV show in US cable history meaning the name brings with it a global audience. And with the show coming to an end this year, now is the time to capitalise on the series' unprecedented success.

Other AMC properties that are likely to be adapted into igaming experiences are Bridezillas and the Marriage Boot Camp franchise.

“From undead hordes of flesh-eating walkers to an army of enraged brides, AMC Networks is home to some of the most explosive dramas on television,” said VP of games at AMC Networks Clayton Neuman of the partnership. “We are delighted to partner with Playtech to deliver that same action and excitement from our iconic brands for the first time in a world-class online gaming experience.”

Aaron Berndtson, head of strategic partnership and entertainment at Playtech added: “The Walking Dead is a once-in-a-generation franchise, and we look forward to delivering best-in-class games true to the loyal and passionate audience. Additionally, to partner on the iconic Bridezillas and Marriage Boot Camp brands, which have been part of the lexicon for years, complements our branded content strategy to deliver the most engaging entertainment experience in the market. We cannot wait to start working together with AMC Networks to bring these products to life.”

This deal will see some of television and films most well known names represented in igaming bringing in new audiences and benefiting both Playtech and AMC.
