The announcement comes as Canada legalizes single-event sports betting.

The Canadian Gaming Association has partnered with esports gaming provider and developer Fandom Sports and the company will now be an official member of the association.

The association is a nationwide trade organization that represents gambling operators and suppliers from Canada, which includes corporations involved in gaming, sports betting, esports and lottery.

The agreement with Fandom has happened just as the Canadian parliament passed Bill C-128, the safe and regulated Sports Betting Act which allows single-event sports betting.

The bill passed its second hearing in the Senate and is now heading for a report in the Senate’s standing committee, and is expected to pass before the end of the year.

"I am pleased to welcome Fandom Sports as the newest member of the CGA,” said Canadian Gaming Association President and CEO Paul Burns (pictured). "This is an exciting time in Canadian gaming as the impending legalization of single-event sports betting will forever change the way that fans and gamers experience sports."

CEO and president of Fandom Sports Media David Vinokurov added: "In advance of the Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act receiving Royal Assent, Fandom Sports is proud to join Canadian industry leaders in preparation for the regulated sports betting market to open in Canada.

“As a Canadian-based company with a suite of Made-in-Canada technologies, we feel that by being at the table with fellow members of the CGA, Fandom Sports will have a strong presence in the domestic Canadian market and will benefit from promotion of Canadian solutions for the global market.”
