Rush Street Gaming on Friday said Justin Moore, former general manager of Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady (pictured), will be the new GM of Rivers Casino Philadelphia, pending approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Moore joined Rivers Casino Schenectady soon after the property opened in 2017.
According to the company, Moore helped establish the Rivers Casino brand in a new and competitive market.
During his tenure in Schenectady, Moore operated The Landing Hotel and led the debut of New York State’s first sportsbook, the operator said.
Rivers Schenectady was named the No. 1 tourist destination in New York’s Capital Region, the company noted, and The “I Love New York” Empire State Tourism Conference was held at Rivers’ Event Center.
Moore is also credited with producing the annual Harbor Jam summer concert series for the adjacent Mohawk Harbor Amphitheater.
Before joining Rush Street, Moore spent 16 years working at various casinos and resorts in Nevada. He began as a food server in Mesquite and eventually became VP and assistant general manager at Green Valley Ranch Resort & Casino in Henderson.
“Rush Street’s accelerated growth in destination and online gaming has created more opportunities for career development inside the company,” Greg Carlin, CEO of Rush Street Gaming and Rivers Casino, said in a statement. “After a successful, four-year term in Upstate New York, we are very pleased to welcome Justin to Philly.”
Moore added: “Eleven years after opening, Rivers Philly has a large number of day-one employees, which speaks volumes about their commitment to the property. I am excited for this new opportunity and proud to remain in the Rush Street family.”
In 2010, Rivers Casino Philadelphia was among the first casinos to open in a major metropolitan market, outside of Las Vegas and Atlantic City. The casino has approximately 1,600 slot machines, 105 live table games, 65 electronic table games, and a 28-table dedicated poker room.
Rush Street Gaming’s casinos generate more than $1 billion in gaming revenue annually.
