Maddox said approximately 60% of the Wynn workforce, or approximately 4,000 employees, have been vaccinated.
"Our primary goal is to create the safest possible environment at Wynn, for both employees and guests," Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox said, according to a video reviewed by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "Vaccination rates are increasing throughout the country, and requiring our employees to either be vaccinated or tested on a weekly basis will make Wynn one of the safest vacation destinations in the U.S."
Wynn has been at the forefront of providing vaccinations and tests to Las Vegas employees. The company has partnered with University Medical Center for an onsite Covid-19 vaccination center at Encore.
Maddox’s statement less than a week after the Nevada Gaming Control Board said it would consider increasing casino floor capacity at properties that have shown a measurable effort to vaccinate employees.
“In order for the restrictions to continue to be lifted, we need to continue to see increases in vaccination of our staff,” Maddox said. “I encourage each and every one of you who have not (gotten the vaccine) to think about it seriously, because it is easy, and it is onsite, and it will help us come back quicker.”
