Operator will offer casual wagering environment focused on esports.

Sports betting application Sparket on Tuesday said it has partnered with Las Vegas-based sports wagering and consulting company US Bookmaking to create a peer-to-peer betting network.

Los Angeles-based Sparket said it will offer peer-to-peer transactions and engagement along with patent pending prediction and confirmation software.

The two companies said they will combine wagering with social media to create a “casual wagering environment” they are calling “the Social Betwork.”

US Bookmaking was founded by Sports Betting Hall of Famer Victor Salerno.

“We see the value of social engagement in sports betting as paramount to moving our company forward,” US Bookmaking director of operations John Salerno said in a statement. “The potential of pari-mutuel betting pools will help diversify the sports wagering market in esports as well as traditional sports.”

Aaron Basch, CEO of Sparket, said he’s excited to partner with US Bookmaking, which he described as an experienced operator that will help Sparket navigate the expanding sports and esports landscape.

“Our Social Betwork platform will enable their partners to access new users and bet types,” Basch said. “By utilizing pari-mutuel odds as a form of peer to peer wagering, Sparket’s application enables US Bookmaking to take less risk, offer better odds, and provide more options to their customers.”
