“The Padres are one of the most exciting teams in baseball right now,” said Circa CEO and Owner Derek Stevens. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of their upcoming season and to bring a piece of the Vegas action to San Diego.”
By partnering with the Padres, Circa hopes to woo over one of Southern California’s most popular sports franchises. Southern California travelers make up an outsized share of Las Vegas car traffic.
“We are excited to expand our brand to the Las Vegas market and work with such a cutting edge and innovative property,” said Sergio Del Prado, San Diego Padres Senior Vice President, Partnerships.
The sponsorship deal comes one day ahead of San Diego’s Opening Day matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Padres are expected to be one of the top teams in baseball this season led by slugger Fernando Tatis Jr.
Circa’s three-level, 78-million-pixel sportsbook screen will ramp up baseball coverage beginning Thursday.
The casino will forever be connected to Southern California baseball lore: Circa opened hours after the Los Angeles Dodgers won the 2020 World Series.
Stevens himself is a big Detroit Tigers fan. On Circa’s opening night, he compared the sportsbook’s design to watching baseball games from the Tigers stadium bleachers.
