The studio will be based in Southfield, Michigan

Playtech has announced it has secured a long-term lease for its first live casino studio in the US, with the facility to be based in Southfield, Michigan.

The gambling technology company has secured approval from the Michigan Gaming Control Board, with the studio to feature Playtech’s best in class technology and video capabilities from its flagship Riga studio.

According to a statement from Playtech, Southfield is “fast becoming Michigan’s leading technology and innovation hub.” The studio meanwhile is set to offer “bespoke areas for operator dedicated tables and networked tables.”

“The studio will not only bring Playtech’s industry-leading live entertainment and game show content to the burgeoning iGaming market in Michigan, but it will also provide local employment opportunities to the community of Southfield,” the statement continued.

Playtech COO Shimon Akad commented: “The new studio in Michigan is the first step in our US live expansion as we look to deliver live studios in all regulated states.

“Our Michigan studio is being designed to be one of the more sophisticated studios tailored to the US market featuring innovation and entertainment at its best. The scale of our technology and breadth of our product will allow Playtech to take the live iGaming experience in the US to the next level.”
