Caesars Entertainment to invest $32m in Indiana Grand Casino expansion

Caesars Entertainment announced plans to invest more than $32m in Indiana Grand Racing & Casino to expand the property’s gaming floor.

The investment calls for an expansion of 25,000-square-feet to the Shelbyville casino floor. The added space will allow for 100 more slot machines and 25 more table games as well as a live poker room with 20 tables. The poker room size will give players the opportunity to qualify for World Series of Poker events.

Wilhelm Construction will carry out construction of the project, which will add 100 additional jobs.

“Since the implementation of table games in early 2020, we have looked forward to expanding our gaming operations,” said Mike Rich, senior vice president and general manager of Indiana Grand. “This growth will allow us to accommodate more guests and add more talented team members to the Indiana Grand family.”

Caesars said it plans to introduce new hospitality, entertainment and restaurant offerings at the casino in the coming months.

One of five Caesars properties in the Hoosier State, Indiana Grand opened 12 years ago as a 233,000-square-foot facility. The property offers live horse racing between April and October.

In February 2021, the casino generated the second most adjusted gross revenue in Indiana at $17.4m, trailing Caesars’ Horseshoe Hammond’s $25m.
