WynnBET, the digital gaming division of Wynn Resorts, on Tuesday said it launched its mobile app in the Commonwealth of Virginia after being awarded an online sports betting permit by the Virginia Lottery.
The company said it is one of six sports betting operators currently authorized in the Commonwealth.
Adults 21 or older in Virginia can download the app on Apple or Android devices.
WynnBET is an authorized gaming operator of NASCAR, and said it will collaborate with NASCAR to “create and promote engaging sports betting experiences” for race fans in Virginia and across the US.
The company noted NASCAR has deep-rooted history in Virginia, with two of its most iconic tracks, Richmond Raceway (pictured) and Martinsville Speedway, located in the state. WynnBET is the official online sportsbook of the two tracks, and soon will commence construction of WynnBET Lounges at each venue.
In addition to sports betting via mobile devices, WynnBET and NASCAR said the lounges will be a place to offer hospitality to customers of the WynnBET platform.
Martinsville Speedway and Richmond Raceway annually host a combined four NASCAR Cup Series races, giving Virginia the most of any US state.
WynnBET said it has expanded its portfolio of bet types offered on its mobile app this NASCAR season, including pre-race and in-play bets. Future bet types currently being explored include top-finishing drivers, driver matchups, stage winners and bets tied to the number of the winning car (over/under), among others.
During the current NASCAR season, WynnBET said it expects to expand its offering to include live, in-play betting through a partnership with Genius Sports and live betting product, Betgenius.
“Our new partnership with Wynn Resorts is having a positive impact as NASCAR advances its position in the rapidly evolving gaming space,” Tim Clark, SVP and chief digital officer, NASCAR, said in a statement. “As we work closely with WynnBET to deliver a state-of-the-art race engagement tool for our race fans, we are grateful to the Virginia Lottery for leading this process and we look forward to welcoming this new experience in Virginia.”
