Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG) has announced it has been granted one of the few online sports licences to be awarded in Virginia.
The online gaming company has been granted a temporary permit to commence online sports wagering throughout the state.
GNOG now has market access to ten US states; Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
“We thank the Virginia Lottery for the opportunity to expand our online business into the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said GNOG president Thomas Winter.
“Together with our SWaM certified equity partner, Virginia Sports Technology Group, we are excited to announce that GNOG will not only be providing Virginians with a great mobile sportsbook, but we will also be proudly sharing our revenues with Virginia's Historically Black Colleges & Universities.”
“We will be working hand in hand with the regulators over the next couple of months to complete all of the required and standard platform testing so that we will be in a position to start taking bets this summer.”
GNOG last month announced it had entered into a definitive agreement with Tioga Downs Race Track for future online gaming market access in New York, following a January 2021 launch in Michigan.
