Osorno casino to pursue legal action after substance release

The Casino Marina del Sol Osorno, located in Chile’s Los Lagos region, has confirmed it will pursue legal action after an unidentified substance was released inside the venue, forcing an evacuation and the activation of emergency protocols.

The incident occurred in an area connecting the casino floor with an adjacent restaurant. Staff and guests reported symptoms including eye irritation and coughing, prompting security personnel to clear the premises and call emergency services as a precautionary measure.

Local firefighters and health authorities attended the scene and carried out environmental measurements throughout the building. After several hours, officials reported that conditions had returned to normal and confirmed that no hospital transfers were required.

Casino management said a formal complaint had been filed and that internal reviews were underway. According to the operator, two individuals have been identified in connection with the incident, although no arrests have been publicly confirmed.

The company stated it is cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities as the investigation continues to determine how the substance entered the premises and the circumstances surrounding its release.

The casino has not announced a timeline for resuming normal operations or confirmed whether additional security measures will be introduced following the incident.
