Great Canadian gains RG check reaccreditation for 10 casinos
The RG check is governed and administered by the RGC, an independent non-profit organization helping to advance responsible gaming standards and evaluate casino facilities.
Great Canadian Entertainment has officially received responsible gaming (RG) reaccreditation for 10 of its casino properties from the Responsible Gaming Council (RGC).
The RGC helps to advance RG standards and evaluate casino facilities as an independent and non-profit organization, assessing criteria such as player safeguards, staff training, self-exclusion options, advertising standards and continuous improvement practices.
The organization verified each of the 10 Great Canadian casinos properly offer RG programs, employee training and player awareness and protection initiatives, with several of the operator’s additional properties set to undergo the reaccreditation check later this year and in 2026.
“Receiving RG Check reaccreditation at 10 of our properties in October is a tremendous milestone,” Great Canadian Social Responsibility and Sustainability Manager Keno Maseli said.
“(RG) is at the heart of our operations, and this recognition reaffirms our unwavering commitment to ensuring our guests can enjoy safe, fun and sustainable experiences. This achievement is also a testament to the work of our team members, the (RGC) and our Crown partners in setting the high standards of excellence in player protection across our entire portfolio.”
Properties which received the RG check reaccreditation include Great Canadian Casino Vancouver, Casino Nova Scotia Halifax & Sydney, Elements Casino Mohawk and River Rock Casino Resort.
The Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA) partnered with RGC on September 2 to begin the development of a new certification program, with the regulator having previously collaborated with ROGA for RG initiatives such as the Know Your Play college education campaign.
The program will look to provide an “independent validation” of an operator’s responsible gaming performance with a focus on long-term accountability and “encourage” growth which exceeds industry standards.
