Delaware January sports betting revenue up 13% year-on-year

Delaware sports betting revenue amounted to $1.7m in January 2021, a 13% increase from the prior-year period.

The total was also a 55% increase from the $1.1m recorded in December 2020, according to figures from Delaware Lottery. The sportsbook figures came from Delaware Park, Harrington Raceway and Dover Downs, who are the only three licensed operators throughout the state.

Delaware Park ranked top for sportsbooks in the state in January, posting revenue of $991,000. The total was a 12% rise from January 2020. 

Harrington Raceway posted revenue of $403,500, a 35% increase from the prior-year period. And Dover Downs reported revenue of $331,000, a 1% decline from January 2020.

Sports lottery retailers throughout the state meanwhile posted $767,000 in revenue for the month, a 60% rise from the prior-year period.

Delaware Lottery last month reported a 91% year-on-year increase in online gaming revenue for January, posting a total of $738,500, with player spending rising 107% to $21.1m.

And table games revenue for January 2021 totalled $4.7m, with Delaware Park once again leading the way with $2.1m. Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway followed with revenue of $1.7m and $900,000 respectively.
