Mexico: Morelos and National Lottery launch raffle to support Mexican migrants

The Government of Morelos, in México, alongside the National Lottery, has announced a collaboration to support Mexican nationals living abroad through a special raffle called Mexico with M for Migrant (México con M de Migrante)
The raffle, scheduled for September 15, is expected to sell four million tickets at MXN200 ($10.70) each, generating a total prize pool of more than MXN424m.
Major prizes range from MXN100,000 to MXN25.5m, with additional awards for approximate and terminal numbers, and a total of 128 direct prizes available.
Funds raised from the raffle will be used to strengthen services for Mexican nationals abroad, including consular and legal support. The initiative aims to recognize the contributions of migrants to Mexico’s development.
Olivia Salomón, the National Lottery Director said: “Those who migrate not only support their families from afar. They are, as our director has stated, heroes who drive the Mexican economy and have also been pillars of prosperity in the United States.
“This special raffle is a tribute to migrants. It is our way of saying: Mexico recognizes you, Mexico honors you, Mexico embraces you. You are part of our identity and our future.”

The Government of Morelos noted that about 350,000 residents of the state live mainly in the US. In 2024, these individuals sent over 22 billion pesos in remittances, which contribute to family economies, education, and community projects.
The raffle was presented at the Centro Cultural Teopanzolco in Cuernavaca, with state officials, migrant representatives and members of various sectors participating in the announcement. The event highlighted the state’s ongoing efforts to provide support to its migrant population.
