Cashless payments now live at casinos in Indiana, Ohio and North Las Vegas.

Boyd Gaming Corporation and Aristocrat Technologies on Monday went live with a new digital wallet product known as “BoydPay.”

The casino operator said its customers now can use BoydPay to create a cashless digital wallet that can be linked to third-party funding sources driven by Sightline Payments.

BoydPay is live at Blue Chip Casino Resort Spa in Michigan City (pictured), Indiana, Belterra Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is in field trial at Aliante Casino Hotel in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

During its initial phase, the BoydPay digital wallet will be linked to a player's loyalty card and used to play or cash out on Aristocrat slot games.

Boyd Gaming said it expects to deploy the digital wallet to all of its casinos nationwide by this summer, pending regulatory approvals.

The company operates 28 gaming properties in 10 states.

Boyd said in future phases – assuming the plan receives regulatory approval – it will tap technology from Aristocrat to link the BoydPay wallet to its B Connected Mobile app, allowing customers to use their smartphones to play and cash out on casino games and pay for amenities throughout each property.

Blake Rampmaier, SVP and CIO for Boyd Gaming, said the new digital wallet is “all about enhancing the guest experience.”

“By going cashless, our customers will be able to avoid the wait times and inconveniences associated with using cash and focus on enjoying their visit to our properties,” Rampmaier said in a statement.

Cath Burns, EVP of customer experience solutions for Aristocrat added: “BoydPay is the latest product of our partnership with Boyd and the foundation of a memorable customer journey.”

Founded in 1975, Boyd Gaming also owns 5% equity in FanDuel Group.

Aristocrat Technologies Inc. is a subsidiary of Aristocrat Leisure Limited. The designer, manufacturer and distributor of Class III games and Class II Innovations for Native American casinos and emerging markets is licensed in 300 gaming jurisdictions and operates in more than 90 countries.
