WynnBET made a double dip of news in the state of Tennessee Wednesday, as it was conditionally approved for a sports gaming license and signed a multi-season marketing collaboration with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies.
The Sports Wagering Committee of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation's Board of Directors gave its approval for WynnBET’s online sports betting app to operate in all parts of state, pending satisfaction of statutory and regulatory requirements.
Tennessee thus becomes the ninth state in which WynnBET has gained market access.
WynnBET currently is available in New Jersey, Colorado, and Michigan. The company has secured market access opportunities in Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Nevada, Ohio and now the Volunteer State, pending approvals from regulatory authorities in each of the latter states.
WynnBET has submitted its application to become licensed in Virginia.
Separately, WynnBET and the Grizzlies said they will focus on a digital-first approach.
The two parties said in a statement they will be “pushing the boundaries of traditional sports marketing partnerships by producing and promoting high-impact experiences emblematic of the energy and excitement of both brands.”
WynnBET added it will be integrated across the most popular digital and broadcast programs from the Grizzlies and Grind City Media, an on-demand media platform and digital content studio.
In addition, WynnBET and the Grizzlies will collaborate on cross-promotional campaigns that will leverage the Grizzlies' digital footprint, including social media, web and mobile applications.
The FedExForum, the Grizzlies’ home arena, soon will see a WynnBET branded lounge. The two parties said several promotional elements will be revealed when the virtual sportsbook is ready to make its official launch in the state.
WynnBET recently was named an Authorized Gaming Operator of NASCAR and the Official Online Sportsbook of the Martinsville Speedway and Richmond Raceway, pending licensure in Virginia.
WynnBET said it will continue to seek out sports marketing partnerships in key jurisdictions as it expands to additional states.
