The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the kiosks are open from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. daily, giving customers the opportunity to place wagers beyond regular sportsbook hours.
The kiosks are available at Boulder Station, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Palace Station, Reed Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station and Sunset Station.
To place a bet, a customer must insert their Station player’s card. Sports and horse racing are both available to wager on.
Station Casinos, founded by Frank Fertitta Jr., is one of the first casino chains in Las Vegas to use self-service kiosks. Last year, BetMGM rolled out its own kiosks at MGM Resorts sportsbooks across the Strip.
William Hill has installed sports betting kiosks at several dozen casinos across Nevada. Nevertheless, most Las Vegas casinos still require bettors to wager over the counter.
Kiosks allow for wagerers to avoid long lines at the counter and also give customers an option to avoid face-to-face contact, which can be of concern to some during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The timing of Station Casinos implementing its kiosks likely had to do with the approaching Super Bowl and next month’s March Madness.
