DRGT loaded seven semi-trucks with approximately 1,050 specifically-designed medical relief beds. The trucks drove from Laredo, Texas across the US-Mexico border into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
DRGT participated with Curando Mexico, a nonprofit organization that provides medical equipment and supplies to improve the country’s medical infrastructure.
Several hundred medical relief beds will be delivered to the Mexico City region, where hospitals are nearing 90% hospital bed occupancy. Mexico City accounts for nearly 500,000 of Mexico’s reported 1.9m Covid-19 cases.
Jurgen de Munck, DRGT’s CEO, oversaw the delivery of the beds. He said the company will continue to contribute to the IMSS Foundation as well as support local and federal health institutions.
“Throughout this time, we have reached 108 containers throughout Mexico, with a sum of more than 50 million dollars, with the support of ProjectCure in the more than 10 years that they have supported Mexico,” he said.
DRGT’s Mexico office is based in the capital city. The fast-growing supplier of casino management and jackpot system solutions has participated in previous humanitarian campaigns, including a $25,000 donation in 2019 to support Curando Mexico’s ongoing efforts.
