Kansas posts $208.8m sports betting handle in April
The state reported $204.5m in online wagers during the month.

The Kansas Lottery has released its April sports betting results. Last month’s sports betting handle reached $208.8m, down by nearly $40m when compared to its March 2025 results.
In a breakdown of last month’s total, $4.3m of the state’s sports betting handle came from retail locations at its four casinos. These included Kansas Star Casino, Hollywood Casino, Boot Hill Casino and Kansas Crossing Casino.
Hollywood Casino, which partners with BetMGM, brought in the largest retail handle for the month, totaling nearly $2.7m.
The state’s online sports betting handle reached more than $204.5m in April. Out of its six operators, Boot Hill yielded the largest online wagering total last month, in partnership with DraftKings.
Online bets through DraftKings reached nearly $92.2m last month. Kansas Star and its online operator, FanDuel, contributed more than $67.9m to last month’s online sports betting total.
The state yielded more than $13.1m in total April sports wagering revenue. Online revenue reached $12.7m last month, while retail sports betting reported more than $0.4m in April revenue.
During the month, the state tax contribution totaled almost $1.3m. Online sports betting contributed $1.2m to the tax total last month, while retail locations were responsible for the remaining nearly $42,000.

However, historic horseracing (HHR) facilities are currently prohibited from having sportsbooks on site but can partner with mobile app providers to offer players online sports betting.
Kansas passed a bill in 2022 to pave the way for both historic horseracing and sports betting. Senate Bill 84 outlines specific requirements, including allowing one facility in Sedgwick County.
