South Carolina Education Lottery will adopt Scientific Games’ SCiQ retail technology

Scientific Games is introducing its SCiQ technology to South Carolina lottery retailers with theft prevention tools.
Key Points
- SCiQ retail tech to roll out across South Carolina
- System provides real-time inventory tracking and digital display menus
Scientific Games has announced a new rollout of its SCiQ retail ecosystem in partnership with the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL), marking the state’s first retail modernisation initiative for lottery sales. The system will be deployed across select retailers and is designed to digitalise the in-store lottery experience, particularly for scratch-off products.
The partnership continues a longstanding relationship between the two organisations: since 2002, Scientific Games has collaborated with SCEL on different projects, including but not only the state’s first scratch-off launch, player loyalty programme and second-chance promotions.
The SCiQ platform offers automated inventory management, store-specific performance reports and digital menu boards that display real-time information about available scratch-off games.
For retailers, the system is intended to reduce operational burden, with inventory management that may help reduce out-of-stock occurrences and product theft through its locked ticket dispensers.
Good to know: SCiQ’s rollout in South Carolina adds to Scientific Games’ presence in over a dozen US markets
Dolly Garfield, SCEL CEO, noted, “Retail has evolved considerably over the past decade, and we know it’s important to our players that SCEL scratch-offs are accessible and easy to purchase. SCiQ will also simplify operations for our retailers, offering efficiencies that increase the value of selling our games in their stores.”
SCiQ is already in use across multiple US states and recently launched in Europe for the first time. Scientific Games continues to support SCEL through its Enhanced Partnership programme.
This latest rollout adds to Scientific Games’ activity in the US lottery market. In early 2025, the company extended its agreement with the Florida Lottery for another three years, maintaining its role as a supplier of instant games and related services across multiple states.
