Key Points
- Brazil’s regulator has entered into a new partnership agreement with IC360
- The organization will provide it’s the SPA-MF with its betting integrity monitoring services
- This partnership will look to ensure enhanced anti-match fixing compliance in the nation’s market
The Brazilian Secretariat of Prizes and Bets of the Ministry of Finance (SPA-MF) has entered into a new partnership with Integrity Compliance 360 (IC360) – as part of a recent initiative to identify suspicious betting activities in the nation’s newly regulated sports betting and iGaming markets.
This new collaboration is set to span over a five-year period, with the SPA having drawn up four additional similar deals to ensure enhanced betting integrity in October 2024, ahead of the opening of the new markets in the new year. Indeed, this latest partnership draws an enhanced focus on sports betting – and looks to address any potential match fixing issues that may arise within the market.
More specifically, IC360 will assist with monitoring of any and all suspicious betting activity in order to identify and manage any attempts to influence betting results – reporting its findings directly to the SPA-MF.
Speaking on the partnership, SPA-MF Secretary, Regis Dudena, said, “Integrity entities such as IC360 play a fundamental role in supporting SPA’s activities, especially in identifying signs of match-fixing, in addition to the structured exchange of information. With this agreement, both SPA and its partner integrity agencies will expand their monitoring and inspection capabilities, promoting greater security and transparency in the sector.”
Building on this, IC360 COO, Scott Sadin, stated, “Our mission is to foster a culture of accountability and provide a detection and early warning system for all stakeholders to ensure that integrity is respected and sustainable for the Brazilian community.”
Good to know: Earlier this month, the SPA released its 2025 – 2026 regulatory agenda
Further, last week, Brazil’s Federal Government released an updated list of acceptable games and esports titles suitable for fixed odds betting.
For IC360, this latest deal falls in the wake of an additional Integrity Monitoring partnership – also announced last week – between the organization and the PGA of America.
