Four Winds South Bend: Keeping up with the trends

Gaming America visited the property to see the casino has added several new slot titles to its gaming floor.
Key Points
- Casino floor features some of the latest slot game releases
- Four Winds offers players more than 1,800 slot titles
Returning to Four Winds South Bend this spring was like coming home but finding new furniture in place of the couch and chairs I remembered from childhood.
Same place, new games.
Last year, I visited several casinos throughout my home state of Indiana, including Four Winds South Bend. I was able to check out more than half of Indiana’s commercial casinos during 2024 and have returned to more than one this year.
Four Winds South Bend is one I always looked forward to revisiting because the gaming floor has several slot titles I enjoy. All my favorite games are all in one place here, and I love the décor and relaxed vibe the destination brings.
The casino hotel is owned and operated by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. The Tribe currently runs casinos in Hartford, New Buffalo, Dogawiac and South Bend, which is its only Indiana casino hotel.
I paid this Tribal gem a recent visit but found a few things had changed since my trip there last summer.
The casino floor – though it has not changed its layout – has some new and recently-released titles available for players.
Unfortunately, these replaced some of my favorite older games.
Previous Smokin’ Hot Stuff Wicked Wheel games were exchanged for Everi’s newer release, Smokin’ Hot Stuff Link.
Everi launched this title during the second quarter of 2024. Smokin’ Hot Stuff Link is available in two versions, Fired Up Fortunes and Fired Up Fat Stacks.
Good to know: Four Winds’ other three casinos are in Michigan
This video slot title has five reels and allows play on 50 lines. The Everi website lists the slot game’s volatility as four out of five.
I played both versions and particularly enjoyed the Fired Up Fat Stacks game, which displays a pile of stacked bills and diamonds that grow as coins are added.
I was able to land multiple bonuses on this game, even while playing on a minimum 50-credit bet. During my 15-minute session, I got the bonus feature more than four times and was able to see both the hold and spin bonus and the scatter bonus feature, which awards players six free games when triggered.
This made up for the casino no longer featuring the Hot Stuff Wicked Wheel Fire and Ice games.
The casino floor has also welcomed Phoenix Link, which Aristocrat unveiled last year at G2E in Las Vegas.
Four Winds South Bend’s gaming floor features more than 1,800 slot machines in various denominations that range from a penny to $100.
The casino offers players a few fan favorites that include Triple Blazing 7’s Double Quick Hits, Huff N’ Puff and Lock it Link Piggy Bankin’.
Four Winds is also home to 27 table games and 12 live poker tables, as well as a high-limit area and sportsbook.
This casino remains near the top of my list because of its beauty, wide selection of games and the way the venue continues to keep up with current trends and offer games fans are looking to play.
