Kansas sports betting handle reaches $248.4m during March
The state posted $241.6m in online wagers during the month.

The Kansas Lottery has its February sports betting results. Last month’s sports betting handle reached $248.4m, down by nearly $5m when compared to its March 2024 handle.
In a breakdown of last month’s total, $6.7m of the state’s sports betting handle came from retail locations at its four casinos. These included Kansas Star Casino, Hollywood Casino, Boot Hill Casino and Kansas Crossing Casino.
Hollywood Casino, which partners with BetMGM, brought in the largest retail handle for the month, totaling nearly $4.2m, down slightly from its results posted in February.
The state’s online sports betting handle reached more than $241.6m during the month of March. Out of its six operators, Boot Hill yielded the largest online wagering total, in partnership with DraftKings.
Online bets through DraftKings reached close to $101.5m last month. Kansas Star and its online operator, FanDuel, contributed more than $85.4m to last month’s online sports betting total.
The state yielded more than $8m in total March revenue from sports betting. Online revenue reached $7.9last month, while retail sports betting reported more than $0.1m in March revenue.
During the month, the state tax contribution totaled almost $0.8m. Online sports betting contributed $786,575 to the tax total last month, while retail locations were responsible for the remaining nearly $16,000.
Good to know: Sports betting has been legal in Kansas’ four casinos since 2022
However, historic horseracing (HHR) facilities are currently prohibited from having sportsbooks on site but can partner with mobile app providers to offer players online sports betting.
Kansas passed a bill in 2022 to pave the way for both historic horseracing and sports betting. Senate Bill 84 outlines specific requirements, including allowing one facility in Sedgwick County.
