High 5 Games discontinues sweepstakes offering in six US states

The decision comes just days after a Washington court ruled that High 5 Games must pay $24.9m in damages to players within the state.

High 5 Games has chosen to cease sweepstakes operations in six US states as part of an amended terms and conditions page that stated new players accounts will not be accepted as of February 18, 2025.
While it has not been stated that the two directly link, High 5 Games was recently forced to pay $24.9m in damages to residents of Washington following a lawsuit filed to the state court.
In response, High 5 Games explained that all in-game purchases within Washington would be voided and refunded, but a 10% administration fee will still be applied.
The operator amended its terms and conditions page to explain that new player accounts will no longer be possible in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia. Eligible players residing in these states will have until March 14 to redeem any sweeps coins before their accounts are permanently closed.
Canadian residents will be able to access their accounts until February 28, at which time all player accounts will be permanently closed there as well.

Despite the operator’s sweepstakes platforms closing in these jurisdictions, High 5 Casino Classic Play will still be available to residents.
The full list of states where High 5 Games is no longer allowed to operate as a sweepstakes casino now includes Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington and West Virginia.
