Casinos in Illinois post $149.3m in January revenue

The Illinois Gaming Board has published its casino results for the month of January. During the month, the state posted $149.3m in adjusted gross receipts.
Slot machines generated a total of $108.8m in January revenue, while table games contributed nearly $35.1m to the month’s combined total.
Hard Rock Casino Rockford’s permanent destination, which opened to the public at the end of August, reported its fifth full month’s results.
In January, the destination generated $11.3m in revenue, a nearly $1m dip when compared to what the casino posted during the previous month.
Rivers Casino emerged with the largest monthly revenue total in January, reaching $38.8m. The casino’s revenue accounted for more than a fourth of the state’s total for the month.
Wind Creek grabbed the second-place spot for the highest January revenue, which reached nearly $13m. Other heavy hitters for the month were Hard Rock Casino Rockford and Grand Victoria Casino.
Bally’s Chicago is currently operating as a temporary casino until the company completes its permanent location.

Bally’s Chicago posted a January revenue total of $9.1m.
Bally’s is currently developing its permanent Chicago casino location. The company said it anticipates opening the destination by 2026.
Once completed, the venue will be home to 4,000 gaming positions, as well as to an exhibition hall, 500-room hotel, a 3,000-seat theater and 10 restaurants.
Illinois’ casinos contributed $25.4m in tax payments last month. More than $16.7m went to the state share, with another $8.7m going out for the local share.
