Online gaming company quickening pace of expansion, expects to add more states in 2021.

Just one day after being approved to operate in Michigan, WynnBET gained market access in Ohio.

The online gaming division of Wynn Resorts said its Ohio operations still are subject to license eligibility and availability, legalization and regulatory approvals.

If all approvals are received, Ohio will mark the eighth state in which WynnBET will launch its casino and sports betting app.

The company gained market access in Michigan through a multi-year deal with GAN and the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

In addition to Michigan, WynnBET currently is available in New Jersey and Colorado, with market access secured in Indiana, Iowa, Nevada and Massachusetts. For the latter, the company entered a market access agreement with Encore Boston Harbor that will become effective subject to legalization of online sports betting in Massachusetts and determination of licensee eligibility.

WynnBET also has submitted for licensure in Tennessee and Virginia, but is awaiting legalization and required approvals by regulatory authorities.

Craig Billings, president of Wynn Resorts, said in a statement Michigan and Ohio are just the beginning of the company’s expansion plans for WynnBET, as it intends to enter several more states this year.

In October 2020, WynnBET became an Authorized Gaming Operator of NASCAR. The company said it expects to announce additional partnerships this year.

WynnBET was launched in 2020 and is headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey.
