The Ohio Casino Control Commission has reported that the state’s casinos managed to generate $1bn in revenue throughout full year (FY) 2024, which represents a decrease of just 0.6% year-over-year.
For the month of December, Ohio casinos reported a total revenue of nearly $89.2m for a decrease of 2.8% from the prior year period. Despite seeing a fall year-over-year, December still managed to report the second-highest casino revenue of any month during 2024 for Ohio. Slot revenue accounted for $63.8m of the total casino revenue for December 2024, decreasing by 3% from the prior year period.
Table game revenue was reported to be just under $25.3m, which represents a decrease of 2.3% year-over-year. The game type has still managed to increase its revenue each month since falling to $21.8m during June 2024.
Slot games generated $732.8m during FY2024, while table games accounted for $276.1m of the total casino revenue in Ohio. The figure for slot games represents an increase of 0.5% year-over-year, but table game revenue decreased by 3.5% from the prior year period.

According to the Ohio Casino Control Commission, four properties report its casino revenue to the Commission, including Jack Cleveland Casino, Hollywood Columbus, Hard Rock Cincinnati and Hollywood Toledo.
Hollywood Casino generated the most revenue of any property during FY2024, reporting $279.1m, while Jack Cleveland Casino followed close behind with a revenue total of $258.5m.
March 2024 finished as the highest-grossing month for casino revenue in Ohio, when the Commission reported that casinos generated nearly $94.8m in revenue including $69.1m produced by slot games.
