Key points:
- Comtrade has obtained GLI certification for the Brazilian landscape
- The supplier has now expanded its offerings in the LatAm region
Provider Comtrade Gaming has announced its official Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) certification in the recently regulated Brazilian market.
This announcement marks the latest phase of expansion for the company, which also saw it secure a license from the UK’s Gambling Commission in November. Further, the supplier also entered the Romanian market in September 2024 – but has now turned its attention away from Europe with this latest move in the LatAm region.
Commenting on the development, Comtrade Gaming CCO, Steven Valentine, said, “Our GLI certification in Brazil is a significant step forward for Comtrade Gaming and we are thrilled to be among the first to achieve is. This certification demonstrates our commitment to providing a reliable and compliant gaming platform that meets the demands of both operators and regulators.”
“We are excited to support the growth of the Brazilian gaming market and to continue delivering innovative solutions that enhance player engagement and operational efficiency. The certification is complimented by the fact we now have Portuguese-speaking project managers and business analysts to help our operators in their new launch or migration.”
Good to know: Earlier this week, Brazil issued an ordinance that looks to address the delays in licenses being issued to sports betting operators
Indeed, a total of 68 online gaming licenses were announced for the first wave of operators entering the Brazilian market in December. However, while 67 sports betting licenses were also detailed, 52 of these were issued on a provisional basis.
After entering the US market via partnership with G3 esports back in 2021, Comtrade has now initiated an additional phase of expansion in the South American continent with this latest license certification. Further, this news also follows the supplier’s partnership announcement with Alea in June, which saw its games distributed across LatAm, Europe and Asia.
