Illinois October sports betting handle reaches $2.04bn

The Illinois Gaming Board has released its October sports betting report. During the month, the state posted a $2.04bn sports betting handle.
The total represents bets placed professional sports, college sports and other events during the month.
Casino Queen took in more than $123.1m in tier 1 bets and $318.5m in tier 2 bets during October, earning it the top earning spot for the month.
Fairmount Park took in the second largest online handle for professional sports during the month, accepting $227.4m in tier 1 wagers and $207.4 in tier 2 wagers.
Wagers on college sports during October accounted for nearly $200m of the total Illinois handle.
In addition to its sports wagering results, the Illinois Gaming Board also published its statewide casino revenue results for the month of November. Adjusted gross receipts during last month reached $152.9m across Illinois’ casinos from slots and table games.
Slot machines generated a total of $115.4m in revenue last month, while table games contributed nearly $37.4m to November’s overall total.
In other state news, Illinois’ Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability recently published a wagering update for 2024.
In the report, the commission gave updates on sports betting throughout the state, as well as “further analysis of state gaming with the focus on casino gambling, video gaming, the Lottery and horseracing.”
So far this year, Illinois’ share of tax revenue from gambling has reached $2.08bn, an increase of 4.8% year-over-year.
