PGCB reports $496.6m in gaming revenue for October 2024

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has released the state’s financial gaming results from casinos, online gambling and sports wagering, reporting a total revenue of almost $496.6m for October 2024. The reported revenue is a 2.8% increase from the prior year period, driven mainly by retail slots and iGaming slots revenue throughout the month.
Retail slots accounted for the most revenue during October, reported to be $200.6m and representing a 4.2% increase year-over-year. iGaming slots revenue saw the largest increase from the prior year period for all types of gaming in the state, rising 28.3% for a revenue total of $109.8m during October 2024.

The biggest decrease for gaming types in Pennsylvania was sports wagering revenue, which fell by 43.2% from the prior year period to generate just under $27.4m throughout October. Retail table game revenue also decreased by 9.3% year-over-year, but managed to report $73.9m of revenue, good for third-most in the state of any gaming type.
Total tax revenue generated collectively through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was $209.2m during October 2024.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course generated the most revenue of any property in the state, reporting $82.5m in revenue which is a 6.9% increase from the prior year period. Valley Forge Casino Resort was a close second, generating $80.9m and a 25.6% year-over-year increase in revenue.
The largest reported decrease in revenue came from Hollywood Casino at the Meadows, which fell by 37.1% from the prior year period for a total revenue of $21.5m.
Throughout October, Pennsylvania saw the debuts of Horseshoe Online Casino and Rush Street Interactive’s BetRivers platform. Both offerings have been made available to players and will become a source for the PGCB to report upon.
