Kansas posts $275.9m October sports betting handle
DraftKings took in more online bets last month than any other operator.

The Kansas Lottery has released its statewide sports betting results for the month of October. The recent report also included the state’s year-to-date figures.
Last month, Kansas players wagered more than $275.9m. Retail sports betting brought in nearly $9.6m of the total handle for October, while online wagers contributed the remaining $266.3m to the total.
Operators walked away with nearly $4.9m in revenue in October, while the state gained a tax payment of more than $498k.
Hollywood Casino took in the largest amount of retail bets, in partnership with Barstool and ESPN Bet. The casino raked in $6.9m in wagers at its retail site.
Other top performers on the retail side included FanDuel at Kansas Star and Caesars at Kansas Cross, which collected wagers totaling $1.5m and more than $0.7m, respectively.
However, DraftKings dominated when it came to online bets last month. The operator, in partnership with Boot Hill, generated nearly $123m in wagers online during the month of October. FanDuel and BetMGM grabbed the number two and three spots last month, with online wagers reaching $84.9m and $22.9m, respectively.
Good to know: Sports betting has been legal in Kansas’ four casinos since 2022
However, historic horseracing (HHR) facilities are currently prohibited from having sportsbooks on site but can partner with mobile app providers to offer players online sports betting.
So far this year, Kansas’ sports betting handle has reached $793m. Operators have reported a year-to-date revenue of more than $39m.
More than $3.9m in taxes have been paid to the state so far this fiscal year.
