NYS commercial casino revenue reaches $53.7m during October

The New State Gaming Commission has published its commercial casino results for the month of October.
The state’s four casinos, Del Lago Resort and Casino, Resorts World Catskills, Rivers Casino and Resort and Tioga Downs reported a combined gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $53.7m.
The largest chunk of last month’s GGR came from slots and electronic table games (ETGs), which raked in close to $40.2m in October revenue.
Slots and EGTs took in more than $500.7m from players in October. Players statewide won an average of $249 per day on slots and EGTs during the month.
Table games at New York’s commercial casinos generated $12.6m in gross gaming revenue last month. Poker table and sports betting on site contributed a combined GGR total of nearly $0.9m to the state’s total.
Last month, operators walked away with $40.2m of the total net revenue. The state collected close to $13.4m in taxes during the month.
In related news, the Empire State reported a new high for its monthly mobile sports betting handle. The state brought in $2.32bn in wagers from players during the month of October, surpassing the previous record set last November.
Platform providers around the state reported a combined total of nearly $86.4m in net revenue during October, almost $14m less than reported during September but close to $5m more than net revenue posted a year ago.
Revenue set aside for education last month totaled nearly $90m, reflecting an increase of close to $5m year-over-year.
Online sports betting in New York went live more than two years ago.
