BetMGM announced that the operator has begun merging the player pools between its New Jersey and Michigan poker markets in the hopes of offering users larger promotions and enhanced poker operations.
“This is a landmark day for our poker product as we combine player pools in select markets,” BetMGM VP of Gaming Angus Nisbet said.
“With the introduction of shared liquidity, we've listened to players’ desire for more games and larger prize pools. By showcasing our best-in-class omnichannel experience – spanning property, sports betting and online casino – we're committed to providing an unparalleled poker experience for our players."
To celebrate the debut of combined player pools, BetMGM Poker will host its biggest tournament series to date starting November 17. The BetMGM Poker Online Championships will run from November 17 through December 1 and feature $2m in guarantees, nightly trophy events and a series leaderboard.

“Combining player pools will immediately elevate BetMGM Poker with more games and bigger guarantees while allowing BetMGM to send more online qualifiers to live tournaments at MGM Resorts properties across the country,” BetMGM Poker Ambassador and four-time World Poker Tour winner Darren Elias said.
“We are focused on the growth of online poker and I am so excited about the recent app upgrades, the upcoming series and the evolution of BetMGM Poker.”
In addition to the merged pools, the operator also announced that it would be releasing an updated version of its application in an attempt to improve operations in all poker markets.
BetMGM also stated that it hopes the arrival of the combined player pools will bring additional omnichannel poker opportunities with MGM Resorts properties.
