Five individuals were also placed on the iGaming self-exclusion list.
Key Points
- The fine was issued due to actions at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia
- An investigation revealed that the casino allowed those on the self-exclusion list to gamble
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has approved a $50,000 fine against Stadium Casino at the recommendation of its Office of Enforcement.
The board levied the fine against the operator for “permitting four individuals on the Board’s Self-Exclusion list to gamble” at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia.
In Pennsylvania, casinos are required to identify self-excluded players and “refuse gaming privileges and other gaming-related activities such as the cashing of checks or cash advances,” according to Board regulations.
In addition to the fine, the Board agreed to place five people on the iGaming Involuntary Exclusion List. These individuals were previously under investigation by the Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement for fraudulent activity on iGaming accounts.
The PGCB is responsible for regulating legal gambling within the state’s 17 land-based casinos, 18 retail sports wagering locations, 12 online sports wagering sites, 22 sites for online casino-type games (slot machines, table games, poker), 74 truck stop establishments with video gaming terminals (VGTs) and nine online fantasy sports contest sites. The PGCB first formed in 2004.

In related news, the Board recently renewed Wind Creek Bethlehem’s Category II standalone casino license, which will allow the company to continue operating Wind Creek Bethlehem Casino in Northampton County for another five years.
The Board said Wind Creek had fulfilled all of the requirements necessary to have its license renewed and approved the motion by unanimous vote.
